Welcome!

Alaska taught me that I am no match for nature. It's awe inspiring, incredibly beautiful, and can kill me in a moment. As just one cheechako (newcomer), my survival time was probably a matter of days. With divine providence and learning to live with my fellow settlers ("pilgrims" to the good folks in Hoonah), we managed to beat those odds. Lessons learned along the way continue to echo in my mind when life's challenges arise. Please join me in talking about life in the wilderness and how I got there and back.
